INTERIOR DESIGN INSPIRED BY MOTHER NATURE. Unique, Luxury, Bespoke, Timeless...
The world's biggest clam species. These giant clams were the largest ever to exist. They became extinct during the later Pleistocene period around 180.000 years ago due to a natural disaster that saw sea levels increase worldwide by 20 meters within a week.
Tridacna Gigantea can only be found around the Indian Ocean along East Africa.
Tanzania, Zanzibar Island, Pemba Island and the Kenyan coast is where they are found.
These clamshells make the perfect luxury washbasins, every piece unique, one of a kind.
They are occasionally found deeply embedded in ancient limestone quarries using GPR technology. They were similar to todays giant clamshells Tridacna Gigas, though the Tridacna Gigantea grew substantially larger.
The largest one ever found weighs a staggering 530 kilo compared to the current "world record", a T.Gigas that was found off Okinawa in 1956 with a weight half of that, 270 kilo.
Note: Today’s giant clam species T.Gigas are heavily protected through C.I.T.E.S with heavy fines and even imprisonment if caught exporting/importing them, rightfully so as they are on the verge of becoming extinct!
Because our clamshell species became extinct 180.000 years ago, worldwide export/import is perfectly legal. So far we have exported these clamshells to the US, Europe, Scandinavia, Middle East and Asia.
